Growing up in Chicago, Jen came from an unchurched home, but thanks to the faithfulness of God, she began attending church with her sister at the age of six and until her early twenties. Though her parents came to faith later in life, those early years planted seeds that would carry her through many fires, more than she can count. As a single mom of three and proud grandma of two, she has seen firsthand how God shows up in the hardest places.
For a decade, she was doing life on her own—wrestling with shame and guilt, while searching for peace—until she finally surrendered. In 2015, she got serious about her faith, and everything began to change. God’s grace has truly rewritten her story.
While attending another church and watching 180 Chicago’s sermons online, she felt a strong pull to be part of a church family that deeply loves and serves the Lord. In August 2023, she joined this amazing community. She’s so excited about the work that 180 Chicago Church is doing. In her role as Campus Coordinator, she supports the leadership team, encourages spiritual growth, fosters meaningful connections, and helps others explore members’ missional pathway. She loves organizing and coordinating, and she’s passionate about creating spaces where people can grow closer to God.
With many years of ministry experience, she has had the privilege of coaching, counseling, and mentoring women through Selah Freedom and Celebrate Recovery, and has also served with the Greater Chicago Great Banquet. It’s her heart’s desire to help others come alive in Christ and experience the same grace and transformation that has changed her life.
When she’s not serving at church, you’ll find her spending time with friends and family, relaxing near the water, hosting special events, or creating something homemade like natural skincare or soy candles.
